Team Shout Out: KMCE's 3rd grade Math
“Any genuine teaching will result, if successful, in someone’s knowing how to bring about a better condition of things than existed earlier.” This quote is being lived out by our 3rd grade Math team at KMCE who consistently push for better learning experiences for our students. Charlise Woodson and Viva Davis (KMCE 3rd grade Math) make it their goal each day to provide engaging and meaningful learning experiences for our students. As we prepare for our end-of-year state testing, they are living out what it means to practice excellence, more specifically with planning. To ensure that our students are prepared for the high-stakes test, they are strategically restructuring portions of their lessons by embedding TN ready aligned question items into the application portion of their normal Eureka Math block. The work they are doing will allow our students more frequent at-bats with the questions they will experience when they test in the Spring. This type of intentionality captures the essence of what makes a good teacher a great one — purposeful, creative classroom teaching.
