6th Grade Science Teacher Wins National Teaching Award

LaDerrick Williams, a 6th-grade science teacher at KIPP Memphis Collegiate Middle, has been selected as a national recipient of the 2022 Harriett Ball Excellence in Teaching Award. Mr. Williams has been selected as one of ten outstanding teachers from across 270 schools and 28 regions in the national KIPP network. The award is named in honor of Harriett Ball, the master teacher who shaped the creation of KIPP. Mr. Williams will receive a $10,000 gift from the KIPP Foundation for his dedication to KIPP Memphis Public Schools and instructional excellence in the classroom.
